Creator of Mindful Yoga Therapy, Suzanne Manafort, will be joining us to provide local teachers with the tools needed to offer support and intentional practice to veterans and others affected by PTSD and trauma. With a huge military presence in this area of North Carolina, we have a special opportunity to help those in need of yogic practices to recover and live a peaceful, strong life.

12 week protocol
Mindful Yoga for Trauma is an empirically informed, clinically tested program comprised of five practices: Pranayama (breathing), Asana (postures connected with breath), Yoga Nidra, Meditation, and Gratitude. Each practice is a tool veterans can use to cope with Post Traumatic Stress, and together, they form a comprehensive system–a toolbox–that will carry Veterans into a life of strength and resilience.

200 Hour Kunga Yoga Lifestyle & Teacher Training Hosted by Wilmington Yoga Center March - August 2019
Kunga Yoga Teacher Trainings teach students skills for “living yoga” both on and off the mat while working towards their 200 hour certification. Kunga training provides a unique opportunity to learn about different traditions within one cumulative program. Instruction is provided in a big picture format of the physical practices of hatha yoga, with a smaller picture introduction into the practice and theory of other prominent styles such as Kripalu, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Prana Flow, Kundalini, Prenatal yoga. Yogic lifestyle, ethics, vegan living, anatomy and physiology, and pranayama are also covered in detail, along with an introduction to therapeutic yoga & kids yoga.
